Lithia is a small community located in southeastern Hillsborough county, one of Florida’s fastest-growing regions, about 18 miles southeast of Tampa, just minutes from shopping in Brandon and with easy access to Insterstate 75. As of the last census Lithia’s population was 8,527, but with the addition of FishHawk Ranch and FishHawk Trails, the population and infrastructure have increased dramatically with more public works and retail stores. Even more is in development with the addition of the Lake Hutto subdivision which consists of a 1,129 acre property and development of about 3,560 new homes. Lithia is just a short commute to big cities, but far enough away to keep the wonderful small town atmosphere.
The community has a rich history in agriculture, saw mills, and phosphate mining and includes beautiful parks and nature trails. Alderman Ford Park has picnic and play areas as well as walking trails. Lithia Springs Park has camping, picnic and play areas as well as “the Springs” open for swimming.
The schools are excellent. Most schools in Lithia are A-rated.
